Writing: Keyana's Wacky Hair Day

Today in Class 24, we drew pictures and wrote stories about our upcoming "Wacky Hair Day' on Friday.  Keyana did a wonderful job with her story, and we decided that it should be published!  She also created a KidPix picture to match the drawing she did before writing.

Excellent Job Keyana!

We are having wacky hair day on Friday.  I am going to be silly.  My hair is going to be colourful.

Art Attack: Painting Pasta

This term, our school is having an Art Attack!  We are learning all kinds of ways to express our creative side using different forms of art.  Team 1 is also learning to answer the question: What does the River really look like?  We have been working on our contributions for our team art project, and we had so much fun painting the pasta for our cool tree that we will make later this week.

Painting pasta sure does leave it's mark on your hands!

We also had some fun visitors from Class 21!  They came to visit and we were all able to paint together!

Manaiakalani Film Festival 2014

This year, we have been learning what it means to be a Pt. Englander.  This means that we need to have pride and confidence in everything we say and do, especially how we treat others.  We know that it is important to treat others the right way, and not be mean.  We hope you enjoy Class 24's submission to the 2014 Manaiakalani Film Festival!

Group Drawing Projects

Today, we had the opportunity to work in a small group to design, draw, and colour a scenic picture of our choice.  First, we had to sit with our group and decide together what our picture would be.  Then, we worked together, using pencils and stencils, to draw our amazing scenes.  When we were finished drawing, we had another team decision to make.

We had to decide what we were going to use to colour our pictures with. We could choice either "skinny" crayons, "fat" crayons, or oil pastels.  Of course, we ALL picked oil pastels!  We had so much fun working in our groups, and we even learnt that we could use a tissue to blend the oil pastels together!

Thank you Class 21!

This afternoon started out just like any other in Class 24.   We were all sitting comfortably around the room reading our chosen books when all of the sudden there was a knock on our door! Class 21 came to visit us!  Ms. Wild's Class come down to invite us to play a game of soccer with them!  We had so much fun spending our afternoon block out in the sun with Class 21 and we played with mixed teams so we were able to make new friends too!  Thanks for picking us to play with Class 21!  You're the best!
Just enjoying our reading time...

Leah, Cherish and Keyana are great at the Pt. England Way!
Check out how they are sharing their pillow!
Ms Wild led both classes out to a special field that had just been mowed just for us!
(Well, kind of...)
We were told the rules and split onto two teams.

Really!  We are playing soccer not rugby!

Check out this opening kick!

Teingoa is ready to play!
We ran and ran...

until we needed a break!

Then, we played "Duck, Duck, Goose!"

Our BIG hand for our teachers!

Before we went back inside, we showed our teachers the love with a big high 5!
