Surprise Story Tellers!

For being such amazing boys and girls during Term 3, Mrs. Moala planned a special "Surprise Story Teller" day just for Class 24!  We had no idea who our special guests would be, or when they were coming.  We sure were excited when they came through the door throughout the day!

We were also so excited when Mrs. Flavelle and Mrs. Tele'a came to Class 24 carrying a box full of fun things!  Their dramatic interpretation of "Little Red Riding Hood" is one not to be missed!  So, grab yourself a snack and enjoy!

Terrific Thursday!

Today, we started out with our Star Student, Kharizma, reading her very own book to our class.  She did a fantastic job, and we loved how she showed us the pictures on each page!

We were even very lucky to have two of our school's ambassadors spend the day with us!  We really enjoyed having Jordan and Aaron in our room!  They helped us finish our writing, played math games with us, and they helped us with our reading!  We even spent some time showing them our Maori songs, and they showed us the motions to one of our special school haka songs, Powhiri Mai. Thanks for being so wonderful Jordan and Aaron!  We hope you come back to help us learn again soon!

Bryston enjoyed reading his book to Aaron.

Leah and Persia are helping Jemma with her new book.

Exodus S. is doing a great job reading a special book that he picked out all by himself!

Check us out learning the motions to Powhiri Mai!

Special Story Time

Today we had a very special story time!  Keyana was our "Star" Student today, and instead of selecting a book for Mrs. Moala to read us this morning, she chose to read her reading book to the class all by herself!  She did a great job, and we are so excited to have other students read to us in the future!

How Many Sticks Are You Tall?

In Class 24, we have been talking about different ways to measure things.  Today, we decided we could measure how tall we are using Mrs. Moala's cool ice block sticks!

Leah and Bryston are counting Kauri's sticks

Victoria is taking a break while Sauma sees how tall she is!

We had to measure Kauri twice!
This time Exodus T and Peni are seeing how tall Kauri is!

Keyana is being measured by Leah, and Bryston is trying to join in too!
How many sticks tall are you?  Come visit us in Class 24 and maybe we'll measure you, too!
We even learnt what 1/2 meant because a whole stick was too much for some people's heights!

Cross Country

All term Team 1 has been practising and preparing for our school Cross Country race that took place this past Thursday afternoon!  We were so excited to run against each other all the way around the big field!  We even got to run in and out of the back gates by the horses that live behind our school.  We did so well, and we know that we are ALL Champions!
Check out TEAM 1 ready to run!
"On Your Mark..." The boys are ready!
"Get Set..." The girls are ready!

GO!!!!

We don't have any pictures of us running, but we did a great job showing our versions of the race on KidPix!

Experiences with Poi

Every Friday afternoon, the lucky learners in Class 24 are so excited to see Whaea Saf at our door ready to teach us more Te Reo Maori!  Today, she came in with a cart all loaded up with large containers!  We were so excited when she allowed us to sing one of our favourite songs using the Poi.

We think we're getting pretty good!  How do you think we're doing?

PENN Stars!

Today, our class was on PENN for the first time! We made a very cool movie about our team trip to the athletic track last week in Pakuranga.  We had our very own Commonwealth Games, and we were able to experience what it feels like to be a real champion!
