Genomics Hui

Today, the students of Pt England were joined by the year 7/8 students from Glenbrae and Glen Innes Primary to have a celebration hui. For the past term (or more), we have been studying Genomics along with Dr. van Hees and Dr. Theirry from the University of Auckland. Our students have learnt so much and it was so fun and rewarding to come together with the other two schools and celebrate by sharing our learning.

Here are some pictures from our celebration.

Mrs.Ilaoa welcoming the students to our learning space and introducing our timetable.

Students were put into mixed groups to share their learning and compete against the other teams in a Genomics quiz.

Students were awarded spot prizes for their learning achievements during the term and the competitions of the day.

PENN Term 4

This term, the students of Team 5 are dancing their way around the world. They are spending a few afternoons with each teacher on the team learning some history of different countries as well as the story of the dance they are learning with that teacher.

For PENN (our daily school News) we shared some footage from three of the countries we have visited so far. Enjoy!

Niue Language Week

Today marks the end of Niue Language Week and here at PES we were treated to an amazing cultural performance by our Niue Cultural group.  We are so proud of these students for supporting their culture and for others who chose to learn about a culture other than their own.
