Film Festival 2020

This year, the students in Room 1 decided to recreate one of their favourite parody videos from YouTube. We sure had some fun filming our movie and trying to get our singing to line up with the actual music was a bit difficult at first. We hope you enjoy our movie, "A Day in the Life."

Thanks for watching! We love hearing from our blog readers, so please leave us a comment.

2019 Manaiakalani Film Festival

This year, Room 1 created a movie for our annual Manaiakalani Film Festival called "Dear Future Me."  We had a lot of fun making our movie and seeing our faces morph from the 5 year old me to the present day student that we now are. We hope you enjoy our movie!

2018 Manaiakalani Film Festival Movie: Tired Eyes

Have you ever stayed awake a little too late before coming to school? Well, the year 5 students at Pt England have learnt that sometimes when you stay up a little too late your eyes can play tricks on you and you see something that may (or may not) have actually been there.

After watching our video, we'd love to hear from you in our comments about a time your eyes played tricks on you and you thought you saw something that wasn't really there.

We hope you enjoy our 2018 Manaiakalani Film Festival Movie "Tired Eyes."

Film Festival Love...

Today, the students of Room 11 spent some time responding to the many comments we have received on our blog for our 10th Annual Manaiakalani Film Festival  movie submission.  The students were so excited to see so many amazing comments from students and classes all over New Zealand on our blog post for our movie "Just Dance".  They had a lot of fun responding to the comments and checking out the blogs of the students who shared their URLs with us.

One of the links shared with us was from LH1 at Ormiston Primary School.  We were so excited when we checked out their blog and found a video of their students dancing along to our Just Dance video!  Awesome job LH1!

Do you think your class can copy our movies?  If you do, let us know and we will happily share your video on our blog as well!

Just Dance! Film Festival 2017

This year, the students of Room 11 decided to make our very own Just Dance video to one of our favourite songs.  We hope you enjoy and we'd love to see you and your class jumping up and following our dance moves! So, have your teacher record you and your friends dancing along, and after you post your video to your blog, send us the link in our comments below!

Manaiakalani Film Festival 2016

Each year Manaiakalani (our cluster of schools) holds an annual Film Festival at Hoyt's Cinema in Sylvia Park Shopping Centre.  Each class submits a 3 minute movie, and has the opportunity to attend a viewing session with other students from their school.  We even have a night viewing for family and friends to come and see a select number of movies from across the cluster.

This year, the students of Room 6 Maths put together a movie entitled "The Hunt for the Manaiakalani People."   We had a lot of fun filming at our neighbouring Pt. England Reserve/Beach and farm.  We were even able to catch a few drone shots flying over our amazing area.

We hope you enjoy our movie!
