2017 Staff Farewells

At our assembly this morning, we said farewell to a few of our amazing PES teachers who are off on new adventures in 2018. Some will be traveling, and others will be having babies! 

The Pav is so thankful to Mrs. Lai and all of the help she has given us this year!  We are going to miss you heaps, and we are so excited to meet your new little baby!

We are also going to miss Whaea Saf tremendously!  However, we are so proud of you and your decision to head to University next year to get your teaching certificate!

Jr School Christmas Carnival

The Junior School student had a fabulous fun day today at our 2017 Jr School Christmas Carnival.  We had so much fun hanging with our friends traveling to all the super cool activities and seeing our teachers all dressed up in their colourful tutus!  Thank you everyone for a fabulous day!

Christmas CRE with Mrs. Clarke

Today, we had our final CRE session with the amazing Mrs. Clarke and we were so blessed by her sharing with us the Christmas story.  It was lots of fun because she made it so interactive.  We were able to wear costumes and act out parts of the story.

Musical Madness Animations

This term, as part of our school wide topic inquiry "Musical Madness" the students of Team 3 worked together to animate some of their favourite songs.

Mrs. Moala's literacy class put together two animations this term, and we used part of one for the beginning of our school prize giving item.

2017 PES End of the Year Picnic

The students and staff at Pt England School are definitely blessed!  We have the gorgeous Pt England Reserve/Beach right next door, and we took off to have our school picnic for the whole day. Once we arrived at the beach, students were able to play in the sand, or stay up on the reserve and play rugby, cricket, volleyball.  Students were also able to hang out with their friends and play on the playground.  After being there for a short time, it was time for Team 3 to have their swimming block!  The teachers made a human circle and the kids had a blast swimming and splashing around with their friends. 

Hour of Code with OMG! Tech

The students of the Pav were very excited to have the Year 4 boys from Room 13 join us for an hour of code with two amazing volunteers sent to us by OMG! Tech.  Vivian and Ruth took the time to help us individually as we worked to complete an Hour of Code activity.  We had a blast and learnt so much!

2017 Year 4 Prizegiving

Mr Moran and I are so proud of all the students we have had in the Pav this year.  We have had an amazing year and everyone has tried so hard and improved so well!  We love you all and wish you all the best in the future!

Film Festival Love...

Today, the students of Room 11 spent some time responding to the many comments we have received on our blog for our 10th Annual Manaiakalani Film Festival  movie submission.  The students were so excited to see so many amazing comments from students and classes all over New Zealand on our blog post for our movie "Just Dance".  They had a lot of fun responding to the comments and checking out the blogs of the students who shared their URLs with us.

One of the links shared with us was from LH1 at Ormiston Primary School.  We were so excited when we checked out their blog and found a video of their students dancing along to our Just Dance video!  Awesome job LH1!

PES Athletics Day 2017

We had an amazing day this year for our PES School Athletics. All of our Year 4 students did an amazing job at each station and we saw lots of support and team spirit.  We can't wait to see how much our Year 4 students improve as athletes in the years to come.

Just Dance! Film Festival 2017

This year, the students of Room 11 decided to make our very own Just Dance video to one of our favourite songs.  We hope you enjoy and we'd love to see you and your class jumping up and following our dance moves! Sharing with the Year 3's

Today we had some special visitors from Mrs. Nalder's class come visit the Pav after lunch.  We met in groups of three (2 year 4's and a year 3) to show them all the cool things we are able to do on our Chromebooks.  The year 3's did a fabulous job exploring and asking questions, and we enjoyed sharing our learning tools with them.

Pav Race Day

Today we have been sneaking into the field to race so we could write about the race.So first we had to wait for Mr Moran to let us go line up. So Mr Moran first  called out every signal group at the right time so everyone would not get pushed. So next when everyone was outside we had to put on our shoe or go bear feet.Then when  everyone  was outside we lined up in 2 lines one boy line and one girl line.Then Everyone was ready to sneak pass the class. So first before I lined up I felt nervous so I was shaking with fear but I still had to run for our writing. Then we all walked down quietly to room 17 and sat on the concrete and waited for our turns so first Mr Moran counted each girl and boy. After he was done counting us he spite each girl and told them to get in a lane. So first the others girls raced then

Finally it was my lines turn to run so I stayed normal and went into a line.Then I waited for Mr Moran to clap a weird thing it was like 2 blocks sticked together but not with tape so when he clapped the 2 blocks together I ran as fast as I could and I used all the energy I had left but I did not make

It i did not come 1st or 2d or 3d or 4th but I did not care I tried my best but to me I was close but I did not win and I felt good because I ran and I have not run like that in ages since my leg got really sour for weeks

So then it was the boys turn and they did a great job to me then when everyone was done doing the race it was close to the final race so the girls who won the race had to race each other and then some of the girls who won the othe race did not make it next it was the boys turn and some did not make it

Finally it was the final race girls vs boys the race was called the sprint race next when everyone who was racing  was getting ready then Mr Moran told us a secret he whispered the secret to us and told us that its not gonna be a sprint race it is going to be a crab race so first Mr Moran told the other kids who are going to race and they were like what so also Mr Moran was gonna race with them so even doe he was a bit older then everyone he let some one else do the blocks so

At last everyone was finish racing and the winner was Mr Moran and after that we went back to class to do this writing...see you later.

Term 4 KiwiSport: Volleyball!

Today we had our first Volleyball session with Coach Renee.  It was awesome to see our net hanging on our new hardcourt this morning ready for our session.  We had a blast today learning from Coach Renee and we are so excited to continue to learn from her for the rest of the term as we further develop our volleyball skills.

Farewell Ms Vani!

We have been so blessed to have an amazing Social Worker in our school the past few years named Ms Vani. We are so excited for Ms Vani and the new adventure she will be on with here new job.  However, PES will miss her greatly!

Niuean Language Week

We are so proud of all the Pav students who decided to support Niuean Language Week and join the Assembly performance group this week.  They had so much fun working with Mrs. Langitupu and Ms Teleso to learn a little bit about Niuean culture, language and dance. 

Term 4 Immersion Assembly

This term began with another amazing PES Immersion Assembly! Each team of teachers creatively presented a snapshot of what their team will be learning this term.  Check out Team 3's Musical Madness video and watch for future posts of our own assembly recounts.

Athletics Practice

This term will will be having our school wide Athletics Day.  The students of Team 3 have started to train hard with rotations every Wednesday afternoon.  Here are some pictures from our first day of training.

2017 PES Cross Country

This past Friday, the students at Pt. England School took the the back field, pasture and Pt. England Reserve as we held our annual Cross Country/Fun Run.  The students of Team 4 have been preparing for this event all term, and we were really pumped to get out there and show our stuff!

Team 3 Visits the Stardome

This past Wednesday, the year 3 and 4 students from Team 3 spent the day at Auckland's Stardome.  We had so much fun exploring and learning at the Stardome before watching the very cool Planetarium movie. We also had a time period to hang out outside and have some kai before playing on the amazing playground, which included a flying fox!

The NED Show

We were very blessed to have a very cool assembly this week called "The NED Show.'  Ned reminds us all that there is a champion inside everyone.

NED reminds us all to:
1. Never give up
2. Encourage others
3. Do your best

Not only did we get to hear all about what NED stands for, but we were also able to see some pretty cool yo-yo tricks.  Students were even given a chance to purchase their very own NED yo-yo to practice their own tricks.
