Te Reo Māori with Whaea Saf

Although today was the hottest day of the summer, the Maths students in Room 11 had an amazing Tuesday afternoon! After lunch, we met in the Whare Fono for our weekly Te Reo Māori lesson with Whaea Saf!  The students in the Pav love singing waiata and this week Whaea Saf taught us a new one for us to work on learning.  We are working very hard to be the leaders of our school and that includes being able to confidently sing all of our school waiata.

It was so hot and sticky so Whaea Saf let us have a "relaxed" mat session this afternoon.

Kiwi Sport Term 4

We are so lucky this term!  We get to learn how to play Softball and we also have the opportunity to learn more about Cricket.

Farewell Year 6 Campers

Today, our Year 6 students left Auckland and headed to Kawau Island for the week.  Ms Lavakula and Mrs. Moala were left behind to look after the Year 5 students, but they were both very sad to see their amazing year 6 students drive away on the buses.  Check out the busses driving away in the video below, and be sure to check out the Year 6 blogs to hear all about Kawau Island.

Manaiakalani Film Festival 2016

Each year Manaiakalani (our cluster of schools) holds an annual Film Festival at Hoyt's Cinema in Sylvia Park Shopping Centre.  Each class submits a 3 minute movie, and has the opportunity to attend a viewing session with other students from their school.  We even have a night viewing for family and friends to come and see a select number of movies from across the cluster.

This year, the students of Room 6 Maths put together a movie entitled "The Hunt for the Manaiakalani People."   We had a lot of fun filming at our neighbouring Pt. England Reserve/Beach and farm.  We were even able to catch a few drone shots flying over our amazing area.
