Term 3: Move 'Ya Body

This term, the students at Pt England will be studying Physical Health and Movement in our Inquiry Topic called "Move 'Ya Body."  The students of Ako 3 (and Team 4) will be focusing on improving our overall health by finding ways to move our bodies during class through daily runs, jump jam sessions, and sports. We will also take a Beep Test at the beginning of the term and again at the end of the term to monitor our progress.  Each class on Team 4 will also be challenged to create their very own game that they will be having other students play later in the term.

Year 5/6 Camp 2018

Every year, during Term 1, our lovely year 5 and 6 students are invited to participate in School Camp for two nights. This camp is amazing and takes place on our back field at school. Students sleep in tents with 2-3 other friends and spend the three days participating in team competitions.  We even have an awesome Concert Night on the last night to share group items and many of our parents, families, and former students come back to watch.

First Day of 2018 is in the Books!

In Ako 3, we had a great first day of the 2018 school year!  Miss West and Mrs. Moala are both so excited to work with Rooms 9 and 10 this year and we have so many fun and exciting things planned for the year!  We had a great day beginning our first art project of the year, and participating in our very first Team 4 sports rotation.

Welcome to Ako 3!

Ako 3 is an Innovative Learning Environment (ILE) comprised of 60+ Year 5 students in Rooms 9 & 10 at Pt England School in Auckland, New Zealand. Every student in our block has their very own Chromebook and all of our learning can be seen on our class site with our completed assignment tasks shared on our individual blogs (linked on the right of this page). We would love to have you follow our Year 5 learning journey this year as we work together to Learn, Create and Share on our class and individual blogs.

2017 Staff Farewells

At our assembly this morning, we said farewell to a few of our amazing PES teachers who are off on new adventures in 2018. Some will be traveling, and others will be having babies! 

The Pav is so thankful to Mrs. Lai and all of the help she has given us this year!  We are going to miss you heaps, and we are so excited to meet your new little baby!

We are also going to miss Whaea Saf tremendously!  However, we are so proud of you and your decision to head to University next year to get your teaching certificate!

Jr School Christmas Carnival

The Junior School student had a fabulous fun day today at our 2017 Jr School Christmas Carnival.  We had so much fun hanging with our friends traveling to all the super cool activities and seeing our teachers all dressed up in their colourful tutus!  Thank you everyone for a fabulous day!

Christmas CRE with Mrs. Clarke

Today, we had our final CRE session with the amazing Mrs. Clarke and we were so blessed by her sharing with us the Christmas story.  It was lots of fun because she made it so interactive.  We were able to wear costumes and act out parts of the story.
